Professional dome conversion

Turn your 360° video into dome-ready content.

Dome Weaver transforms equirectangular footage into fisheye projection files configured exactly for your venue, rendered at any resolution.

Free version · No sign-up required · Windows and macOS

Built for real dome workflows

Your 360° footage is ready. Your dome isn't a sphere.

Most planetarium systems expect a circular fisheye image — not a panoramic rectangle. Getting from one to the other shouldn't require a compositing suite.

Every venue is different.

180° or 210° field of view. Tilted horizon. Specific resolution. Each dome has its own technical spec. Save those specs as presets and apply them in seconds.

One source, many venues.

Queue multiple dome configurations from a single source file. Render for three planetariums overnight. Pick up the files in the morning.

Designed for the work, not around it

A 3D dome preview updates live as you adjust parameters. Timeline scrubbing lets you check your content at any point before you commit to a full render.

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Live 3D dome preview

See exactly how your content maps onto the dome before rendering a single frame. Switch between audience view and external view.

Full parameter control

Field of view, pitch, yaw — configure the physical dome setup and content mapping independently. Save any configuration as a reusable preset.

Batch rendering queue

Add multiple dome configurations to the queue and render them overnight. One source, any number of venues, no babysitting required.

Broad format support

Input: MP4, MOV, MKV, PNG/TIFF/EXR sequences. Output: PNG sequence, MP4 H.264/H.265, ProRes 422, ProRes 4444, WebM VP9.

Audio preserved

Your audio track comes along for the ride — passed through losslessly for video output, exported as a separate WAV for PNG sequences.

Optional upscaling

When rendering above source resolution, choose no upscaling or Lanczos upscaling. Everything runs locally, so you stay in control of quality, speed, and render time.

How it works

① Load your 360° source

Drop in an equirectangular video or image sequence — the standard output format of 360° cameras and VR rendering engines.

② Configure your dome

Set the field of view, horizon tilt, and content orientation for your target venue. The 3D preview updates instantly. Save the configuration as a preset for next time.

③ Render

Add to the queue and render. Your frames arrive as fisheye-projected files, ready for your dome system.

Questions before you render?

What dome systems is this compatible with?

Dome Weaver produces standard fisheye projection files that work with any dome system: Digistar, Sky-Skan, Spitz, Zeiss, and custom installations. The output is a standard image file — your dome system handles playback.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free has no time limit and includes all conversion features, formats, presets, batch rendering, and the render queue. It is limited to 3K × 3K output and adds a watermark. Pro removes the watermark and output resolution limit.

Do Free and Pro use different apps?

No. The Windows and Mac downloads install the same Dome Weaver app. Free and Pro are license states inside the app, so you can download once and activate Pro later.

My source footage is 5.7K. Will that work?

Yes. Dome Weaver reads your source at its native resolution. If your source has more pixels than your target output, no upscaling is needed. If your target output is larger, you can render without upscaling or choose Lanczos upscaling. Other upscaling workflows can be handled outside the app.

Does it work with PNG/EXR render sequences?

Yes. PNG, TIFF, JPEG, EXR, and DPX sequences are all supported as input. This makes it straightforward to use in VFX and 3D animation pipelines.

I need to deliver to three planetariums. How does that work?

Save each venue's configuration as a named preset. Then select your source, add all three presets to the render queue, and render. Each venue gets its own output folder.

Is Pro a subscription? What happens if I don't renew?

Yes, Pro is €199/year. If you don't renew, the app continues to work on the Free tier with the 3K output limit and watermark. Your existing rendered files are always yours — nothing changes about files you've already exported.

Which platforms are supported?

Dome Weaver is available for Windows and macOS. Download the version for your platform and use the same Free or Pro license terms.

Can I use it on two computers?

Yes. Each Pro license includes 2 machine activations across Windows and macOS. You can deactivate a machine at any time to free up a slot.
